When Vietnam veteran Bil Paul realized he’d missed hearing the whole story of his late father’s service in the Aleutian Islands during World War II, he set out to learn as much more as possible. Paul then created a realistic and irreverent book appealing to both military and non-military readers. Due to his past experience creating or editing non-fiction books, he skillfully weaved together officer and enlisted men’s stories and memories. The author has an MA degree in interdisciplinary art and English and lives near Sacramento, California. He makes author appearances, has taught an art class for seniors, displays his photographs online, writes a newspaper column and is working on a book to introduce general audiences to Einstein.
