Trixi Symonds is the founder of the worldwide sew-together phenomenon Sew a Softie, which has been featured in?Simply Sewing,?Homespun,?Handmade,?Casa Creativa,?Love Patchwork and Quilting,?Little U?from Uppercase, and many more. A designer and teacher with over 25 years of experience, Symonds has held workshops in Kyoto, Amsterdam, and Melbourne, and in venues all over her home city of Sydney, including the Art Gallery of NSW, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Australia Museum. She is also the author of?Sew Together Grow Together, which offers 20 hand-sewing projects that bring parents and children together through sewing. Symonds was asked to design a simple-to-sew Ugly Doll by the promoters of the UK release of the?Ugly Dolls?movie and designed a piranha softie for Aaron Blabey? book?Piranhas Don? Eat Bananas.?Deborah Fisher?is a designer of handmade things, and an object maker, specializing in textiles and ceramics. She is the author of?Sew Fun: 20 Projects for the Whole Family?and?Quilt Giving: 19 Simple Quilt Patterns to Make and Give. Deborah? company, Fish Museum and Circus, specializes in charming miscellany for makers, including handmade ceramic and wool pincushions, and sewing accessories. She is the founder of the Bright Hopes Collaborative Quilt Project, a community-based nonprofit quilting organization, and Bo Twal, a nonprofit international doll project.
