Christian M. DeJohn is a military historian, former Sergeant in the US cavalry, and army veteran of service in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany, Korea, and Egypt. Called to active duty after the September 11 attacks, his duties included serving as an M1A1 Abrams tank gunner and driver and as a dismounted cavalry scout patrolling rural Bosnia in Humvees, with the historic First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry. His writing experience has allowed him to fly in a B-17 bomber and with the Army? Golden Knights parachute team, recreate Pickett? Charge at Gettysburg, reminisce with America? greatest living WWII fighter ace, and enjoy champagne with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Andrew. His articles on military and American history have appeared in the?American Legion Magazine,?Philadelphia Inquirer,?Washington Times,?Main Line Magazine,?METRO, and?The Dictionary of American History. He holds a BA in political science from The American University in Washington, DC and completed all required credits towards a master of arts in degree in military and American history. A disabled veteran, he won a historic First Amendment case (DeJohn vs. Temple University) at the state and federal levels which protects campus free speech, and cooperated with Congress and the media in exposing the VA scandal to the taxpaying American public. Residing with his wife and daughter in the suburbs of Philadelphia, he is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and US Cavalry Association, and has been commissioned in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He also assists the Delaware County, Pennsylvania Veterans?Memorial, known for its statue of Sgt. "Wild Bill" Guarnere of "Band of Brothers" fame.
