Mat ?rish?Garretson? relationship with the A-7 began in 1979 when, as a high school student, he participated in a drill weekend with the local Naval Reserve A-7 squadron. Over the years, Garretson has amassed the largest private collection of A-7 photographs, memorabilia and hardware in the world, including his own A-7. He serves as executive director of the A-7 Corsair II Association, and as President of Friends of Naval Aviation. He is a lifetime member of the Tailhook Association, Association of Naval Aviation, and Naval Aviation Museum, and a member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association. He divides his time between Eagan, Minnesota and Pensacola, Florida, with his wife, Amie, and sons Jack and Thomas.
